Asian Universities Weiqi Competition |

The above competition organised by the Thailand Weiqi Association was held in Bangkok from 15 to 21 Oct 06. The competition attracted hundreds of participants. Singapore Weiqi Association selected 2 students from Nanyang Polytechnic to represent Singapore in the Asian Competition and 6 students for the Thailand Local Universities competition. The Singapore team performed very well in the Asian Competition beating strong players such as Hong Kong and Macau emerging 4th position. Professional players from South Korea were Champions followed by Taiwan and Japan respectively. Team NYP also came in 10th and 18th positions respectively in the Local Universities competition out of 52 teams.
