17th Qiuping and Lanke Cup

Not 1, 2 or even 3 but SEVEN!

During the 17th Qiuping and Lanke Cup at NYP’s Indoor Sports Hall, Xie Tang, a 1st Year SIT student emerged as Individual Champion and was the only participant with 7 straight clear wins against his opponents!

In the team event, NYP put up a close fight against defending Champion, Hwa Chong Institution.  We achieved the 1st Runners-up position, beating NTU, NUS and the other participating polytechnics.
Singapore Weiqi Association co-hosted the event with NYP held from 7 & 8 Jun 08.

Still on Weiqi - SIT/EI student, Chuah Chee Hiong, was selected by Singapore Weiqi Association to represent Singapore at the 1st CMC Asian Amateur Top 10 GO Championship in Taiwan held from 26 to 30 Jun 08.
