Outdoor sports facilities are operated according to the following schedule:

9.00 am to 9.00 pm

Saturdays & Sundays

9.00 am to 8.00 pm

Closed on Public Holidays

Swimming Pool & Sports Hall are operated according to the following schedule:

All outdoor sports facilities and the swimming pool will be closed to users during inclement weather.

The Polytechnic may make changes to the operating hours without prior notice.

The Polytechnic reserves the right to stop all play on the facilities if it believes safety and facility conditions will be compromised. In the event of a late inclusion of a polytechnic event or training session, all personal or block bookings will be cancelled or superseded. Every attempt shall be made to inform the affected users of such changes.

Coin-operated lockers are available for rent to users for a minimal fee. All users are encouraged not to leave their valuables & belongings unattended when using the sports facilities.

Rules and Regulations on the Use of Sports Facilities

Only fully registered students and staff of Nanyang Polytechnic are allowed to book and use the sports facilities. These Sports Facilities are not open to outsiders except persons permitted by the Polytechnic.

All students are therefore requested to use their own personalised Student ID Card to gain entry to the Sports Facilities. Students are reminded that they should not lend their Student ID Card to be used by other students or outsiders. Please note that it is a major offence to lend your Student ID Card to any other person or to use someone else's Student ID Card.

All users must be dressed in proper sports attire. Only flat, non-marking rubber soled shoes are to be worn on all playing courts and astro-turf hockey pitch.

No food or drink is allowed in any part of the sports facilities.

Users are requested to adhere to all rules or warning signs placed at the facility.

Any student breaking or damaging equipment, property or facilities wilfully or through misuse shall bear the full cost of replacing any damaged property.

The Polytechnic reserves the right to remove or reject unauthorised persons and users who infringe any of the stipulated regulations.

The Polytechnic does not accept any liability for injury caused to persons or damage or loss to personal effects as a result of using the sports facilities.

Booking of Sports Facilities

Badminton, Tennis and Squash courts are available for bookings through the Facilities Reservation System (FRS). The FRS can be used to view, check and/or cancel available sports facilities at your own convenience.

The FRS system can be accessed through stand-alone computer terminals located conveniently for students' use at the SA Office, Library and Free Access Labs in the Schools.

In the event of a power failure or system breakdown, users are required to bring along their Student Card to the SA Office to make their bookings manually.

Badminton, Tennis and Squash courts can be booked up to 1 week in advance. Each student or staff may book only 1 facility per hour per week.

Block Bookings

The soccer field, hockey pitch and basketball / volleyball / netball courts are only available for block bookings at the SA Office. All block booking requests shall be administered on a case-by-case basis.

Students requesting to book these facilities must have organised teams comprising of registered NYP students only.

Application of the Tertiary Student ez-link Card

The Transit Link Tertiary Student ez-link Card is issued by Transit Link on behalf of SBS, SMRT and TIBS to all eligible full time students. (For the eligibility criteria, please refer to the TransitLink website at http://www.transitlink.com.sg).

For students who applied for the ez-link Card during the major enrolment period, SA Office will assist in the distribution of the ez-link Card to the students. For more details, please refer to Student Affairs Office Notice Boards or enquire at the Student
Affairs Office.

After the major enrolment period, students will have to go to the Student Affairs Office for application procedures.

Application for the ez-link Card will be available at the following TransitLink Card Replacement Offices:

  • Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange
  • Hougang Central Bus Interchange
  • Jurong East Bus Interchange
  • Pasir Ris Bus Interchange
  • Sembawang MRT Station
  • Tiong Bahru MRT Station
  Operating Hours:

(excluding Public Holidays),
10.00am to 6.00pm

You would need to bring along the following identification for verification:

  • original NRIC/Passport for Singapore citizens
  • original NRIC/Re-entry Permit for Singapore Permanent Residents
  • original Passport or Malaysian IC and Foreign Student Identification Pass (FIN) for foreign students

No photograph is required at the point of application as the photo image will be retrieved from the respective tertiary institution's database.

A fee of $11 is payable at point of application for the Tertiary Student ez-link Card:

  • $5 card cost (non-refundable)
  • $3 personalisation fee (non-refundable)
  • $3 travel deposit (refundable)

Lost ez-link Card

To report loss, card holders can call 1800-CALL ONE (1800-2255 663) and provide their NRIC number or ez-link card number and contact number (leave a voice mail if calling after operating hours). A claim number will be given by the hotline staff and the lost card will be invalidated within 48 hours.

Any remaining deposit and store value (determined after invalidation has been effected) can be collected from any Ticket Office 5 working days after the date of loss report. When collecting any refund at the Ticket Office, card holders are to produce their Personal ID and quote the claim number given.

For security reasons, the loss report is irreversible once it is lodged in our system. Hence, card holders are advised to search thoroughly for the card before making the loss report.

Concession card replacements for lost, damaged or faulty ez-link cards can now be obtained at any of the Card Replacement Offices.

Please do contact the TransitLink Hotline at 1800-CALL ONE (1800-2255 663) to check your eligibility status before proceeding to the Card Replacement Offices. Bring along the following items/documents when applying for a replacement:

  • original NRIC/Passport for Singapore citizens; or
  • original NRIC/Re-entry Permit for Singapore Permanent Residents; or
  • original Passport or Malaysian IC and Foreign Student Identification Pass (FIN) for foreign students;
  • Tertiary Student ez-link Card (if applicable).

Locker Rental Services

Lockers are available for rent to students at affordable rental rates. Kaichi Spacemaster Pte Ltd is the appointed contractor for locker rental services to students. There are two types of lockers available for rent and the locker rental charges are as follows:

Space Locker (0.117 cubic metres) - $81.00/ year + $9.00 (compulsory padlock)

Cube Locker (0.038 cubic metres) - $39.00/ year + $9.00 (compulsory padlock)


Application forms are available at the SA Office (Block E Level 4).

Applicants are required to send the forms together with cheque or money order directly to the contractor at the following mailing address:
