What is counselling?
Counselling is a process aimed at helping
you to achieve your potential as a student and as a person. The
counsellor assists and supports you in dealing with difficulties
which interfere with the attainment of your educational and personal
goals.
How is counselling done?
Talking about the difficult situation you are in, generating
alternatives, considering the consequences, making changes to the
situation or changes in the way you view the situation, are part
and parcel of the counselling process.
How long will counselling lasts?
Depending on the complexity of the problem, counselling may
range from a half hour session to several sessions. This will be
jointly decided between the counsellor and the student.
Will my friends and family get to know about my difficulties?
Counselling sessions are strictly confidential.
How much do I need to pay?
Counselling sessions, seminars and workshops conducted by
the counsellors are free of charge.
