All
students who join NYP will have a Personal Mentor assigned to them.
The Personal Mentor's
role is to be a friend and to provide assistance, guidance and first-line
counselling to students.
First year students
will also benefit from the support and advice on various aspects
of their life at NYP from Student Mentors - groups of friendly senior
students who volunteer their time to help new students settle into
an enriching student life in NYP.
Students generally find
it easier to relate to their peers, the Student Mentors.
International Student
Club (ISC), a special interest group in NYP, helps new foreign students
to adjust and adapt to life in Singapore and NYP.They help them
find suitable accommodation, provide them with information on transport,
food, banking facilities, immigration and student visas and other
important matters.
