Introduction
Accounting and Finance
is the crucial backbone of any business
organization and its product management
is essential to the profitability of any
business. Professionals in the field of
accountancy & finance play an important
role in maintaining the public's faith
in them to set standards of integrity.
As Singapore strives to attract global
businesses and investments, the standards,
corporate governance and disclosure practices
we adopt must be recognised and trusted
by international investors and business
communities. With recent significant changes
such as the requirement to comply with
the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards
and the formation of the Council of Corporate
Disclosure and Governance, there will
always be a strong demand for graduates
with a Diploma in Accountancy and Finance.
Students will acquire specialised knowledge
in essential business functions of accounting,
finance and taxation through carefully
selected modules to help them pursue the
global standards in accountancy and finance.
The ICT application-based learning takes
centre stage in our course design &
delivery. This will prepare our graduates
for the challenges of the working world
and place them in good stead for flexible
career options and further educational
advancement.
Students undergo the Teaching Enterprise
Project (TEP) to gain practical skills
in various operational business processes
as well as communication, interpersonal
skills and teamwork. Through group projects,
they will apply their technical knowledge
towards defining, identifying, interpreting,
analysing and solving problems. The TEP
is complemented by an 11-week Industrial
Placement Programme where students are
attached to public and private sector
organisations.
