FIRST YEAR - Learning the Fundamentals
In the first year, this course will focus on broad-based modules which will give you a fundamental grounding in basic sciences, including chemistry, biochemistry and a comprehensive foundation in chemical engineering principles. Besides technical skills, you will also acquire effective communication and IT skills.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECOND YEAR - Knowing the Applications
Building on the first year foundation, in the second year, you will undergo a range of well-integrated modules covering chemical process applications, biopharmaceutical technologies, applied sciences and Good Manufacturing Practice.

You will learn to play the key role in the designing and optimizing system and process operations. You will also learn how complex medicinal drugs are produced using the latest biotechnology techniques.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THIRD YEAR - Getting Ready to Make a Difference
In the third year, you will receive extensive practical training which prepares you for the responsibilities and challenges in the industry. You will benefit from the hands-on experience in operating the state-of-the-art pilot plant which consists of a 100-liter fermenter and an active pharmaceutical ingredient plant. In addition to the core subjects, you may choose between two areas of specialization - biopharmaceutical or process technology. Depending on your area of interest, you may pick from a selection of electives like analytical biochemistry, molecular biotechnology, process & control engineering.

You will have an opportunity to integrate and apply the knowledge learnt during the course by working on final-year project and through undergoing an industrial attachment in the biopharmaceutical and chemical industry. Upon graduation, you are ready to make a difference in the working world.
