Biologics - or biopharmaceuticals as they are also known - are medicinal products made from living cells such as proteins and hormones. Unlike the oral pills which are often made from synthetic chemicals, biologics are medicinal products isolated from a variety of natural sources - human, animal or microorganism - by biotechnology methods. Biologics have been used to treat cancers, arthritis and other serious diseases. Some well-known examples are insulin and vaccines which are injected into the body.

Many of the new medicines worldwide are now created from living cells. Across the world, there is also a growing trend of pharmaceutical companies focusing on biopharmaceuticals.

The Diploma in Biologics & Process Technology is first and the only course in Singapore that combines biological and chemical sciences with engineering concepts, and with a strong emphasis on biopharmaceutical technologies. This course is for you if you are interested in the manufacture of useful and specialised high value drugs. Come and ride on the leading edge of technology wave in the making of genetically modified organisms that save lives and benefit mankind.
