The School of Chemical & Life Sciences is committed to providing quality education to the new generation and also provide research and development environment to nurture fertile minds, sparks creativity and innovation. The life science department has 29 state-of-the art laboratories: 17 in the biotech and 12 in the food labs. Currently, SCL (LS) has a generous funding of $2.5 million dollars from various funding agencies for its research activities.
Also located within the premises of NYP is the Bioinnovation center (BIC) which offers start-ups and budding entrepreneurs a conducive environment to engage in R&D and product development. Both BIC and other industry-partners can tap on the wide range of staff capabilities, laboratory equipments and facilities in the field of biotech, pharmaceuticals and food science; offered for project collaboration.
The Bioinformatics group under SCL work s through collaboration within NYP, our industry partners and national research institutions to develop bioinformatics capabilities.
