Synopsis Of Programme 5 Modules

Engineering Data Management
The module provides students the knowledge and capabilities in performing Computer-Aided Engineering applications such as kinematics simulation of products and systems, finite element analysis of products' structure of design. Students will also be taught on performing a digital mock-up of products in a virtual reality environment. The module will provide students the concepts of Product Data Management (PDM) and how it is applied to industrial job work-flow.

Shopfloor Monitoring & Control
This module addresses essential phases of project development and the structured approach to manage shop floor. It intends to develop students?ability to apply project management techniques to efficiently manage projects and to provide a better understanding of shop floor management related issues.

Product Innovation & Rapid Prototyping
This module equips students with the essential knowledge of product innovation process with coverage on the application of computer-Aided Design tools for design and development of components and products. They will also be introduced to the concept and applications of various rapid prototyping and rapid tooling techniques.

Biomedical Manufacturing Technology
This module introduces and equips students with key essential multi disciplinary knowledge involved in the Biomedical Manufacturing Technology. Specific topics cover manufacturing technology include clean room technology, computer integrated manufacturing, distributed computer control system and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). It also teaches students the basics biomedical processes include sterilization, reactors, crystallizes, freezers, dryers, heat exchanger, separators and condensers.

Quality Assurance
The module teaches descriptive and inferential statistics with the emphasis on applications for quality control. Provide an introduction to sampling theory, development and use of quality charts and a general view of the quality system in a manufacturing environment.
