Green Technology

Global efforts in addressing climate change are gaining momentum. With the push for Green, industries are recognizing the benefits of using green technology to reduce their carbon footprint and looking at innovations in energy efficiency in devices, products and systems to help reduce energy usage, directly or indirectly.

In tandem with these global industry trends and demands, the EDB has identified Green Electronics as one of the new growth areas for the electronics sector. Green electronic systems and green ICT solutions that drive up business growth by driving down energy consumption and hence, carbon emissions from electronics and ICT systems are increasingly becoming important to the industries. These will further spur companies to innovate green electronic and ICT products and systems.

This elective aims to meet the demand for electronics technologists with expertise in green technologies, green/alternative energy and enterprise-connected building systems, leveraging on the convergence of building automation and ICT infrastructure technologies.
