The Rapid Prototyping Centre (RPC) of Nanyang Polytechnic is a specialist Centre that provides educational and development training on core competencies in Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Tooling Technology and Product Development for its project students and the industries.

Our Capabilities
Product Design, Development and Industrial Design
We have accumulated extensive experience working with Industrial partners in Consumer and Medical product design and development. We are able to provide turnkey product development solutions including product Industrial Design.

Rapid Prototyping & Rapid Manufacturing
Our rapid prototyping facilities include – Stereolithography, Selective Laser Sintering, Fused Deposition Modeling, Direct Metal Laser Sintering and SolidScape. We are able to develop rapid prototype in Polymer and metal material. (Please see details below)


Rapid Tooling & Hybrid Tooling
We have developed and fabricated several rapid tooling inserts for our industrial customer. The rapid tooling inserts are build using the Direct Metal Laser Sintering machine. It can be fabricated in various metal material (Please see detail below)


Vacuum Casting
Vacuum Casting is a process that can be used to create multiple copies of a plastic prototype, with greater durability. We have delivered numerous vacuum casting prototypes to our Industrial customers. Vacuum casting parts can be fabricated in polyurethane, investing casting wax, low melting point alloy and even dual materials.


Appearance and Functional Model
Our teams of experienced and dedicated staff are able to develop and fabricate appearance and functional models. The service offered includes texturing, cosmetics, graphics, transfer lettering and even cubic printing.
Other Services
Rapid Prototyping Centre can be the gateway to other services within NYP. We are able to provide one-stop solution to the industries. We can link our customer to services such as Finite Element Analysis, Mould Flow Analysis, Reverse Engineering and many other services.
