Hospital clinical practice is an essential part of the training of a student radiation therapist. The objectives of clinical attachments for the students are to ensure that they are integrating clinical experiences with their academic instruction.
Clinical attachments are held both during the semestral period as well as the vacation period. Throughout the course, all students are expected to attend at least 10 blocks of clinical attachment totally 38 weeks rostered throughout the three years.
Each hospital has specially assigned one Clinical Liaison Supervisor to ensure that their well-being is well taken care of. It is imperative that students have hands-on practice, under the supervision of a qualified radiographer or radiation therapist. Such supervision and guidance is important as it prepares the students for professional practice after they graduate.
