Course Aims
The course aims to develop students and equip them with:
- a holistic knowledge of the various critical areas of enterprise information security through a comprehensive coverage of people, process and technology aspects
- the capability to harmonize security policies & governance, risk management and IT in the implementation of effective solutions
- a good understanding of the integrity and ethical responsibilities expected of an information security professional
- essential life skills in creative & critical thinking, team building, self-directed learning, effective communication and enterprising spirit
Duration: 3 academic years on a full-time basis.
Career Prospects
Information Security is a key enabler of trusted e-services across public, private and people sectors. The increasing level of security breaches and malicious attacks has raised the demand for qualified information security professionals both locally and globally - be it in financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, healthcare or defence. Graduates can look forward to challenging and fulfilling career progression as Network & System Security Expert, Software Security Technologist, IT & InfoSecurity Consultant, Information Systems Auditor and R&D Technical Staff.
Further Studies
With the Diploma in Information Security, graduates will have opportunities to pursue further studies with good advanced standing in relevant degree courses at reputable universities in Singapore, the UK, Australia, the US, Canada and New Zealand.
