NYP-IBM Web Services Innovation Zone

Open Computing Summit

To speed up the adoption of Web Services technology in Singapore, NYP and IBM signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 13 Sept 2002. The Web Services Innovation Zone (WIZ) set up at NYP is to promote Web Services interoperability across platforms, operating systems and programming languages. WIZ has also undertaken both pilot and commercial industry project development.

In Nov 2004, NYP and IBM built on the existing partnership in Web Services with the launch of the Open Computing Summit. Based on Web Services, Linux and Grid Computing, the Summit provides enhanced integrated capabilities that leverage on the maturing and converging open computing technologies such as Enterprise Service Bus, IBM Workplace technology and pervasive computing.
