SBM students and their newly-hatched business plans.

Final-year students, mostly from the School of Business Management (SBM), unleased their creativity and resourcefulness at the second semester's Entrepreneurship Day held last Saturday.

The semester-based event provides a platform for students taking the Entrepreneurship Module to showcase their entrepreneurship spirit and innovative business proposals to experienced industry professionals. In all, more than 500 students pitched their ideas to about 40 industry professionals. Besides SBM students, there were also 37 students from the School of Information Technology (SIT) and eight foreign students currently in NYP on an overseas exchange programme taking part. In addition, there were also 13 adult learners from part-time diploma programmes. For the first time, SBM and SIT students came together to put across a cross-disciplinary proposal with a strong focus on Fintech.

Every business proposal had to be presented within 16 minutes. They were assessed on their uniqueness, operational readiness and financial sustainability, in addition to each team's presentation skills that were aided by impressive scale models and prototypes, marketing collateral and even prototypes of mobile applications.
