The School of Information Technology (SIT) held its I-code-I-tell event on Jan 25. This annual event encourages SIT students to develop and pitch creative ideas, the same way that budding innovators pitch their ideas to venture capitalists.

The competition had two categories: the Best Startup Pitch category for first and second-year students, and the Most Innovative Project category for final-year students who are working on their final-year projects.

Staff, judges and the audience were impressed by the high level of creativity in the ideas pitched. Winning the top prize in the Best Startup Pitch category was Nicole Frances Cabansay, a first-year student from the Diploma in Business Informatics. Her idea of a lost and found mobile app for local public transport users won her a Fitbit Blaze smartwatch.

The top prize in the Most Innovative Project category went to Diploma in information Technology student Nur Ramadhan, and Diploma in Engineering Informatics student Tan Sheng Fong, for their idea of 3D virtual tours using augmented virtual reality. They each took home a Xbox One game console.
