Got a Job, One Year Before Graduation
School of Business Management Published on 26 May 2017

Diploma in Marketing students Grace Kho (left) and Nur Fira secured jobs one year ahead of their graduation.

Our students Grace Kho Jia En and Nur Fira Atiqah Mazlan have been offered full-time jobs right after their 10-week internship, even though they still have one more year in their studies.

The Diploma in Marketing students had interned at Intage Singapore, a leading market research company in Asia. The company valued their contribution and attitude, and have made them job offers. Even better, the offers came with remuneration comparable with that of fresh university graduates! They were pleasantly surprised and have accepted the offer, ready to join the company when they graduate in 2018.

The practice-oriented and hands-on approach of internship are integral to preparing NYP business students for the industry. These stints last between 10 to 24 weeks and give the students the valuable opportunity of developing the right work attitude and acquiring self-confidence and interpersonal skills in a real organisational setting.

Ilona Loo, an associate director at Intage Singapore who supervised Grace and Fira, commented that exemplary traits by Grace and Fira - such as initiative, attentiveness, going the extra mile, and quick thinking - set them apart from the other interns
