Eighteen deserving students earned a fully-paid trip to Guangzhou, China, for an innovation and entrepreneurship learning journey. The 10-day trip was organised by MakerSpaceNYP.

The itinerary included dialogues with successful Guangzhou entrepreneurs in sectors like retail, manufacturing and design. The group also gained rare insights on raw material sourcing in mega distribution centres that catered to the needs of different industries, such as textile, electronics and construction. They also met with like-minded students from Panyu Polytechnic, and discussed possible collaborations in the future.

The participants gained some important learning lessons from the trip. For example, they learned not to focus on money-making at the onset when starting a business, and that in-depth research is important to make or break a business.
