Once again, our students have done us proud! In the first ever nationwide FinTalent competition NYP has taken four out of the top 10 spots. Arvin Ong (SBM), Ivan Ong (SBM) and Bill Chan (SIT) came in 6^th, 4^th and 2^nd respectively.
 

Emerging overall winner, beating a field of over 400 competitors from the universities and polys, is Aaron Loke (SIT). Aaron, in an outstanding display of forecasting and data science skills, outplayed the rest of the participants in PortfolioQuest - a gamified training tool for managing bank financing portfolios for consumers. Throughout the whole duration of the competition, he made the most money to stay atop the leaderboard as he managed four types of retail lending portfolios. The FinTalent competition was held in conjunction with the 2017 Singapore Fintech Festival. The competition began in late Sep and only ended earlier this month, with the winners being announced onstage yesterday during the Singapore Fintech Festival on Nov 16.
 

Aaron has won for himself the grand prize: the opportunity to travel to Silicon Valley to visit First Data's Clover office in Sunnyvale, California. During the visit, he will have the opportunity to network with Fintech professionals from some of the largest and most well-known technology companies in the world. As for Bill, Ivan, and Arvin, they each won S$500 as well as mentorship opportunities under First Data.
