At the 2017 edition of the Travel & Tourism Business (TTBiz) Challenge, three Year 1 students from the Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management (DHTM) clinched the top prize as they pitched their idea of a unique trip to Tohoku, Japan.

In their proposal, the DHTM trio of Bryan Koo Zhuang Yuan, Koh Kang Yik, and Ho Jia Yi shared the idea of a five-day itinerary to Tohoku. They incorporated sustainability practices in their business activities to help restore the area, which has been devastated since the 2011 tsunami. They also factored in the four seasons of Japan, and thus the travel itinerary can be implemented throughout the year, providing a unique experience for tourists regardless of season. This garnered compliments from the international panel of industry judges.

Congrats to SBM!
