NYP ++ Model for Excellence- the 4Cs Framework

 

Our senior management takes the lead in developing organization excellence. What differentiates us is the NYP++ Model for Excellence comprising Culture, Concept, Capability and Connection (4Cs). This model forms the foundation for our organizational excellence effort. From the 4Cs, we derive all other aspects of organizational development including innovation, people and service excellence

 

Culture

 NYP has fostered a pioneering and can-do spirit among its staff as part of a borderless culture that values learning, sharing and collaboration. Together with the organisational values, our culture guides our judgement, decisions and actions. Senior management actively promotes this culture where schools and corporate departments work seamlessly together on joint initiatives or multi-disciplinary projects/programmes. Such an environment has enabled us to turn ideas into opportunities and achieve results far greater than the sum of our individual efforts.

 

Concept 

In support of our mission, NYP has continually developed new and innovative frameworks, models and approaches for implementing key ideas enterprise-wide as well as alignment of all towards a common goal. The Teaching Factory® Concept, a hallmark of NYP, is one of our key approaches to technologist education which enables us to produce graduates that are immediately productive on entering the workforce. This Concept brings the real world environment into the polytechnic with practice-oriented training and real-world contexts and technologies.

 

 

Capability 

Staff work closely with industry to keep abreast of advances in technology and industry practices, thus continuing to remain academically and technologically agile. NYP continually enhances and expands staff capability at individual, functional and organizational level, integrating and synergising many cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams. We are able to continually develop capabilities in new and diverse fields and provide multiple pathways for staff development and knowledge sharing.

 

Connection

Partnerships allow us to feel the pulse of industry and education. Our staff and students thus have significant training opportunities, including participation in R&D processes and real life industry projects. In keeping with this belief of "Working with Industry, Training for Industry", NYP has forged many strategic alliances with international and local industry and educational leaders. These world class organizations value NYP as their preferred partner to collaborate in developing new courses as well as innovative solutions using new and emerging technologies.
