Milestones

Our journey towards organisational excellence has taken us through the certification and award schemes of ISO 9000, ISO 14000, People Developer Standard, Singapore Quality Class, Singapore Innovation Class, Singapore Service Class and People Excellence Award. These milestones under gird our aim to continuously create value in our people, sharpen their competitive edge, and enable them to stay ahead of the curve, ensuring that they maintain their currency and relevancy in the face of future challenges.

Some examples of NYP's most outstanding organisational awards in recent years are: 

In 2011, NYP received the Singapore Quality Award.  According to SPRING Singapore, this award is conferred upon the ‘best of the best’ in recognition of their attainment of world-class standard of performance excellence.

NYP was conferred the 2009 Innovation Excellence Award (I-Award), accorded by the Singapore Quality Award (SQA) Governing Council. Launched in 2001, the I-Award is the highest accolade given to innovative organisations in Singapore. The Award recognises organisations whose outstanding innovation capability development approach has contributed significantly to business excellence.  NYP is the first education institution in Singapore to receive the I-Award.  It is also the sole recipient of the award in 2009.

In 2009, NYP also received the Hewitt Best Employers in Singapore Award 2009. NYP is the only education institution in Singapore to receive this accolade. The Hewitt Best Employers in Singapore Study is organised once every two years. For 2009, more than 50 companies participated in this study, and the top 11 organisations were then selected. Companies were evaluated on various criteria, such as leadership, corporate culture and career opportunities for employees.

In 2008, NYP received the Platinum Award for the Singapore HEALTH Award (SHA) 2008. This is the highest and most prestigious level of the SHA, and it is given to organisations which have attained at least two consecutive Gold Awards. The award recognises exemplary workplace health promotion programmes which are sustained and pervasive throughout the organisation.

In 2006, NYP was conferred the Distinguished Public Service Award for Organisational Excellence. Earlier, in 2000 and subsequently in 2004, NYP received the inaugural Public Service Award for Organisational Excellence. Instituted by the Managing for Excellence Office (MFE), the Distinguished PS Award recognises organisations for achieving milestones in their journey towards organisational excellence, namely the Singapore Quality Class, Singapore Innovation Class, People Developer Standard, Singapore Service Class and the ISO 9001:2000 certification.
