What is GRADS?
The Graduates Recruitment And Development Scheme (GRADS) is designed to provide short-term work placement opportunities at NYP for our fresh graduates during the current weak job market.  This scheme will allow the Polytechnic to boost capability development initiatives and enhance our graduates’ employability by providing them with relevant and meaningful work experiences until eventual improvements in the job market present them new employment opportunities.  Successful candidates will be appointed under contract for a period of 6 months. 
 

Who is it for?
GRADS is targeted at NYP students graduating in 2009 and those who graduated 2 years ago and have just completed their national service duties and are now looking for employment.  Prior to applying for GRADS, applicants should have been actively seeking employment in the job market. 

What are the benefits under GRADS?
Applicants who are selected for GRADS will be able to gain hands-on application and development experience, and put their skills to practical use in areas of work relevant to their field of study.  They will be paid monthly allowance (with CPF contribution), and are entitled to 9 days of annual leave and pro-rated medical leave under the 2004 Leave scheme.
