Our strategy for organisational excellence is built
strongly upon the NYP++ Model of Excellence - the
4Cs framework encompassing the four inter-related
elements of Culture, Concept, Capability and Connection
in a forward development, self-reinforcing flow.

We
nurture a culture that values quality relationships
and interactions in a borderless environment to promote
learning and sharing, openness and trust, and support
collaboration, teamwork, technology innovation and
resource integration across the entire organisation.
Extensive and effective use of channels of communication
as well as platforms for SOLID (Sharing, Organisational
Learning, Interaction & Dialogue) are widely employed
to propagate the NYP culture through all levels of
staff. |

The
hallmark of NYP is the Teaching Factory® concept –
a unique pedagogic innovation pioneered by our Principal
& CEO Mr Lin Cheng Ton in the EDB Institutes. With
the transfer of the EDB Institutes to the mainstream
of polytechnic education in 1993, the transfer brought
along not only seasoned people with ideas and innovations,
but also state-of-the-art equipment and facilities,
quality programmes, as well as the successful integration
of the Teaching Factory® within NYP.
Mr Lin introduced many other innovative organisational
concepts and business strategies, such as “Borderless
Organisation”, “Career Unlimited” and “Staff Re-profiling”. They contribute
significantly to our organisational excellence and
the quality of our people and service in education.

The Teaching Factory® concept, with its philosophy
of “working with industry, and training for industry”
and focus on working closely with industry to
provide real-world learning environments for staff
and students, lays a firm foundation for capability
development and people excellence. NYP continuously
enhances and expands staff capability at individual,
functional and organisational level, integrating
and synergising many cross-functional and multi-disciplinary
teams for Total System Capability. |

forge strategic alliances with our partners in industry,
strengthened with high value contributions from our
proven system capability, responsiveness to market
needs and consistent track record in delivering innovative
solutions, state-of-the-art projects, business processes
and programmes. NYP has delivered many joint-industry
R&D projects and customised manpower training for
industry. Through such networking and industry partnerships,
our staff’s capabilities and market value are constantly
enhanced and our curricula always relevant to current
day needs. This enhances our standing in industry
and widens our value-adding network of partners and
