NYP Wins Micromouse Competition in the US

 

Nanyang Polytechnic has topped the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) 23rd Annual Micromouse Competition held in Washington DC, USA on 16 February 2009.

Our winning mouse, BR8S won two awards – Champion and the Fastest Mouse Award after clocking the fastest run time of 11.81 seconds.

The team from the School of Engineering (Electronics) consists of Siew Peng Shorn, Yin Hsiang Ting and Soh Yi Lang from the Embedded Technology Centre.

Last year's champion, champion the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) came in second, followed by Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. The team from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the top engineering school in America, was fourth.

A total of 23 teams from the USA, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea and India took part in the competition this year.
