who fail to comply with the above.

Note:
NYP wireless network currently supports the following Operating Systems
for wireless connectivity:
- Windows Vista
- Windows XP Pro, Service Pack
1 onwards
- Windows 2000, Service Pack 4
onwards
- Pocket PC 2003
- Mac OS X
You may be able to connect your
device under a different Operating System but at present we will not be
able to assist with any problems or queries you may have.

Steps
to Get Connected
Connecting to NYP Wireless LAN
is easy. Follow these 3 simple steps and you'll be able to connect to
NYP wireless network!
Step 1:
The first thing you need is a wireless network card that is compliant
with the 802.11a, 802.11b or 802.11g
wireless specification. Follow the manufacturers instructions for
installing and configuring the card. (Most of you should have done this
already)

Step 2:
Follow the configuration guides below to setup the wireless access

Please note that HTC Touch Pro
on Windows Mobile 6.1 is not supported.
* If you are using Intel
Centrino, please follow the steps below to enable the
"wireless tab" under Wireless Network Connection Properties.
- Make sure that the switch to
turn on wireless is enabled which can be found at the side/back of the
notebook.
- Go to Control Panel ->
Administrative Tools and double click on Services.
- Located "Wireless Zero
Configuration" and start the service.
- The Wireless Tab will be
"present" then.

If you are using Pocket PC, Mac OS X or Symbian OS phones, you will
need NYP Wireless LAN Root
Certificate. (The above guides
contain instructions for you to install the Root Certificate)

Step 3 (NYP Staff only):
For staff who need to access the services available on staff intranet,
e.g. Staffassist or Lotus Notes to check email, you are required to
login to WLAN SSL VPN.
First, save the following file
onto your desktop: (Right Click on the Icon and select "Save Target AS:
WLAN SSL VPN (Internet Shortcut)"

Then, follow the WLAN SSL VPN guide below to get connected to NYP Staff
