Health Sciences Courses for ITE Certificate holders

 

 Nursing

 

Higher NITEC in Paramedic & Emergency Care Holders (IT62)

To be eligible for admission to the 2.5-year Nursing course, applicants should have GPA 3.50 or higher (including CCA bonus points).

 

NITEC in Nursing Holders (NT45)

To be eligible for admission to the 2.5-year Nursing course, applicants should also have sat for the Singapore Cambridge 'N' or 'O' level examination in addition to the NTC2/NITEC qualification with GPA 3.50 or higher (including CCA bonus points).

 

To be eligible for admission to the 3-year Nursing course, applicants should also have sat for the Singapore Cambridge 'N' or 'O' level examination in addition to the following requirements :

  • GPA between 3 and 3.50 (including CCA bonus points)
  • have at least one year of working experience as an Enrolled Nurse, and
  • have been recommended by employer.

 

Due to the special requirements of the healthcare professions, all applicants have to pass a medical examination and be free from physical handicap to be admitted into the programme.

 

Whilst not comprehensive, the following conditions will lead to non-acceptance into the course:

  • HBsAg positive/
  • Hepatitis B Carrier
  • Legal blindness
  • Active tuberculosis
  • Profound deafness
  • Psychiatric condition
  • Uncontrolled asthma
  • Uncontrolled epilepsy
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Uncontrolled hypertension
  • Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)
  • Mobility restricted (hindering performance)
  • Physical dependence upon mobility equipment
