Health Sciences for Malaysia STPM holders

To apply for the 3-year Diploma in Health Sciences courses, candidates must have the following grades in subjects taken at the STPM Examination:

Due to the special requirements of the HealthCare profession, all applicants have to pass a medical examination and be free from physical handicap to ensure suitability.

STPM holders may also apply for other Health Sciences courses using their SPM results as shown below.

 Nursing

 Dental Hygiene & Therapy *

To apply, candidates must have the following minimum results taken at the SPM / UEC Examination:

Additional Requirements

Due to the special requirements of the Healthcare profession, all applicants have to pass a medical examination and be free from physical handicap to ensure suitability.

Whilst not comprehensive, applicants with the following conditions will not be eligible for the course:

• active tuberculosis
• profound deafness
• uncontrolled diabetes
• acquired immune deficiency syndrome
• uncontrolled hypertension
• legal blindness
• physical dependence upon mobility equipment
• uncontrolled asthma
• HBs Ag positive
• psychiatric condition
• uncontrolled epilepsy
• mobility restricted (hindering performance)

* Dental Hygiene and Therapy candidates will be required to take a manual dexterity test by the relevant Admission Selection Committee to determine their suitability for admission to the course.
 

 Social Sciences (Social Work)

To apply, candidates must have the following minimum results taken at the SPM/UEC Examination:

To be eligible for selection, you must also have sat for at least one of the following subjects :

• Geography
• History
• Principles of Accounts
• Commerce/Commercial Studies
• Literature in English/Chinese/Malay/Tamil
• Combined Humanities
