SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace (SFDW) 2.0

Introduced in 2017, the SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace (SFDW) is a foundational training programme that aims to equip Singaporean adults (including those planning to return to the workforce) with the relevant mindset and digital literacy skills for work needed in the current and future economy.

In the next phase of SFDW implementation, SFDW 2.0 will focus on four key areas: data analytics, automation, cybersecurity risk and in-demand digital tools. Carefully curated by experts from NYP’s School of Information Technology, the course is filled with practical tips and interactive experiences. NYP is able to customise the course to multiple sectors. There are also specialised runs for the F&B and retail industries at NYP's Asian Culinary Institute and Singapore Institute of Retail Studies respectively.

Critical Core Skills

There has been rapid shifts and dynamic developments in the Singapore economy and business environment, particularly with the increased digitalisation and adoption of technology in the workplace. This has placed a greater importance on developing certain key skills that can prepare workers and employees to adapt to the future economy.

The Critical Core Skills (CCS) consists of 16 competencies that are regarded as the most essential workplace skills. These competencies are grouped into three clusters – Thinking Critically, Interacting with Others, and Staying Relevant.

As a key training provider, NYP offers a suite of CCS courses for learners to develop their soft and technical skills. This ensures learners remain relevant and current to meet the needs of the industry and prepare for the future work environment. Companies can also better steer their workforce by levelling up their employees to thrive and excel in the changing business environment.
