OIS International Students Orientation Programme

The Office for International Students (OIS) organises orientation programmes for our new NYP international students before the start of the semester.

The orientation programmes for the international students attending  the Preparatory English Language Courses are held around Dec/Jan. There is also an orientation programme held in April for other international Students.

The orientation programmes are conducted to help our new international students settle down, make new friends and learn more about NYP and Singapore. OIS works with the International Students Club (ISC) to make the orientation fill with fun as the programmes include exciting games and ice breaking activities that help the new students make new friends among the new students and their seniors.

The Singapore Challenge

The Singapore Challenge is an annual joint polytechnic event jointly organised by The Singapore International Foundation (SIF) and the 5 Polytechnics.

The Singapore Challenge is an “Amazing Race” styled challenge where teams comprising local and international students from the five Polytechnics compete against each other in a race around Singapore. The challenge provides an excellent opportunity for students to make new friends from the five Polytechnics and strengthen their bond with teammates from their alma mater.

Into its second year, NYP hosted the starting point for The Singapore Challenge 2011and Singapore Polytechnic hosted the ending point. It was tiring race which all our students enjoyed and they are all looking forward to the next Singapore Challenge.
