Course Introduction

 

The Productivity Manager Programme by Nanyang Polytechnic is intended to provide participants with a broad conceptual understanding of the fundamentals of productivity and its tools, techniques and management; and how these could be applied at the company level and in the industry sector they belong so as to improve the company’s productivity.

Course Aims

At the end of the programme, it is expected that the participant will:

(a) Understand the key productivity concepts and its measurement

(b) Appreciate the needs and rationales for productivity improvement; and the challenges in implementing a productivity

      improvement project

(c) Learn the types of tools, techniques, methodologies, systems and processes that may be used to improve productivity at

      company or industry sectorial level

(d) Appreciate the potential applications of innovation and technology in productivity improvement

(e) Be able to identify and apply the concept & methodologies to implement a sustainable company-based productivity

      improvement programme(s)

Course Schedule

The course will commence on 09 Jan 2012 & 27 Feb 2012.

 

The classroom contact hour is 8 days.

 

Participants are required to work on a company-based project, outside the classroom hours, to allow them to apply the skills and knowledge to a productivity-related company project within his/her company.

Target Participants & Requirements

The course is suitable for Managers / Senior Executives with responsibilities to drive productivity improvement and/or organizational performance.

 

Participants should have significant experience in Hospitality & F&B industries with at least 3 years of experience at the managerial or supervisory level.  Participants, preferably with minimum of GCE “A” level or Polytechnic diploma, should be company-sponsored and are required to complete an approved company-based productivity project.

Course Fees

COURSE FEE* (AFTER WDA’s SUBSIDY) PER PARTICIPANT

  • Singapore Citizen and Permanent Residents: S$1,100 (before GST and after the 70% subsidy)

  • Foreigners: S$3,370 (before GST) 

*Companies may be eligible for the Productivity & Innovation Credit (PIC)in the form of deduction of taxable expenditure up to 4 times of the nett course fee paid.

Class Size & Training Delivery

The class size is between 10 to 15 participants.

  

Training delivery modes include: class-room style seminar or workshop, small group discussions, case studies, collaborative learning and project.
