Overseas Industrial Placement Programme (OIPP)

One of the Polytechnic’s strategic thrust is ‘Regional and International Orientation’ which supports our national emphasis on regionalisation and globalisation of our economy. We aim to equip our students with a strong regional and global mindset to support the government’s effort in developing an external economy. In order to do that, we have the Overseas Industrial Placement Programme (OIPP) which deploys some of our students on overseas work attachments.

To date, some 200 students have been sent to 15 countries including Canada, India, United States, United Kingdom, France, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam,Thailand and Maldives.

Through the OIPP, students are given an opportunity to work in companies overseas and gain valuable practical international experience. They learn and appreciate the challenges of managing business across national boundaries and cultures.

The major benefit for employers is that NYP’s graduates endowed with these skills and experiences are able to start contributing quickly, whether in Singapore or anywhere else in the world.
