Summary: This project, in consultation with the Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), proposes the development of a system, offering voice guided navigation, a talking map, and assisted pedestrian crossing, for the visually handicapped. The navigation component of the system will be based on pedestrian path information gathered in a previous project (Street Directory & Barrier-free Routing for Wheelchair Users). This project is supported by the Tote Board Social Innovation Research (SIR) Fund.
