Flying high at the 2017 Singapore Amazing Flying Machines Competition

21 students from the School of Engineering, in 7 teams, participated in the 2017 Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition (SAFMC), in the semi-autonomous category. For this challenge, they had to design and build an aerial platform, then to fly it into a mock-up building to collect a chemical sample, to identify two casualties via their name tags and to fly out of the building, all without hitting any obstacles.

Competing against students from other polytechnics and universities in Singapore, our SEG students took the gold, silver and fifth placing in the championship awards. They also snatched the gold and bronze in the best presentation awards, as well as the gold in best platform and most creative awards.
