Diploma-Plus Programmes

The Diploma Plus Programme is offered to eligible students to broaden their learning and develop specialized skills and knowledge. These certified programmes equip you with valuable knowledge and workplace skills.or better prepare you for university studies.

 

You will undertake the Dip-Plus programme during the course of your study. Upon successful completion of the Dip-Plus programme, you will receive a Dip-Plus transcript at Graduation.

 

The following Dip-Plus programmes are offered within the School of Health Sciences:

  • HSA300 - Life Support Course for Nurses (LSCN) (30 hrs)

    The module provides the learner with advanced knowledge and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It explores the concepts of cardiopulmonary resuscitation by recognising the factors associated with a cardiac arrest in hospitals and clinics, and delivering post-resuscitation care.

    The module will include recognition of lethal cardiac rhythms and respiratory arrest as well as skills in advanced airway management, defibrillation, and administration of emergency drugs.

    Students will be awarded the LSCN Provider Certificate if they satisfy National Resuscitation Council criteria.

  • HSA301 - Literature Appraisal & Academic Writing (45 hrs)

    The aim of the course is to enable the student to be proficient at literature search, critical appraisal of the literature and academic writing. The module further equips students with skills to better manage their research, project work and written assignments at the tertiary level.
