Rebecca Lou Le Hui was part of the pioneer batch of Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) students at Nanyang Polytechnic. When she qualified for the Programme, the former Anderson Secondary School student knew straightaway where she wanted to go because she had heard about, and thoroughly researched, the School of Interactive & Digital Media and its strengths in animation.
The avid storyteller says that it was fascinating learning new skills to tell old tales through different mediums from the school. One of her highlights in NYP was creating an interactive piece for the Journey to Infinity: MC Escher’s World of Wonder exhibition at Art Science Museum. The project gave her a great sense of pride and fulfilment to see her works exhibited in public.
Rebecca interned for six months with the Walt Disney Company’s Southeast Asia arm. The stint gave her experience in creating digital content for the company. One of her most exciting projects was developing live social media content with the cast from the blockbuster movie Captain America. The company was so impressed with her performance and made her a full-time job offer, and it’s just one of many she’s considering.
Rebecca is thinking about working for at least a year to get some experience under her belt, before taking up a degree programme that would complement her creative skills, such as entrepreneurship, business and marketing.
