iDM Day is SIDM’s annual outreach event where we invite Secondary School students to learn more about SIDM and what we can offer them!
It is also a day we celebrate as a school. This year, visitors to iDM Day can also participate in SIDM's very own Art Market!
This year SIDM hosted 360 students and teachers from 12 secondary schools, who attended talks by our Alumni and Staff, and participated in exciting workshops and fun fair activities!
The day started at 9am with students and teachers attending talks by two of our guest speakers, Mr Ronald Fong and Mr Benjamin Ang.
Both Ronald and Ben are alumni from the Diploma in Digital Media Design (Animation) and Diploma in Motion Graphics & Broadcast Design respectively.
They spoke about their transitions from students to professionals and how studying in SIDM has benefited them.
Ronald is currently co-founder and Creative Director of Masonry Studios while Ben is the Founder and Director of Genesis Motion Design.
The secondary school students were captivated by their sharing sessions and found both alumni particularly engaging and inspiring!
The students then proceeded to have lunch before moving on to two workshops of their choice. Afterwards they were chaperoned by SIDM student ambassadors from the workshops to their preferred Course Advising session. The students spent some time at our Fun Fair, playing games set up by the SIDM club members, creating “shrinky dinks” and enjoying the free-flow of popcorn and cotton candy.
They also got to experience our latest games ShipWrecked (VR), Project Souls and NYP GO!
They also got a chance to try their hands on the most recent WACOM and CINTIQ products!
Everyone had a fun time on iDM Day, munching on delicious chocolate and trying to win our limited edition keychain by playing Snaplar, an augmented reality app created Mr Ho Wei Siong, an alumni who started his own company.
