Diploma Plus Programme

The following Diploma-Plus modules are offered to students who are currently pursuing a Full-Time diploma from the School of Information Technology:

  • ITA103 Applied Calculus (30 hours)

    Upon the completion of this module, you would have gained the necessary mathematical skills and knowledge that will adequately prepare you for further studies. Topics covered will include limits of functions, derivatives and its applications (including concavity), integration techniques (including trigonometric substitutions and improper integrals) and its applications.


    Students who complete this module can move on to ITA105– Advanced Calculus. This module forms 1 of 3 Mathematics modules that will enable NYP students to be exempted from the Mathematics Proficiency Test in NUS and NTU, for specific degree programmes. To be exempted, students must have sat and passed ITA103, ITA104 and ITA105.

  • ITA104 Analytical Geometry (30 hours)

    Upon the completion of this module, you would have gained the necessary mathematical skills and knowledge that will adequately prepare you for further studies. Topics covered include functions and graphs, inequalities, conic sections, plane curves, polar coordinates, vectors, sequences and series.


    Students who complete this module can move on to ITA103 – Applied Calculus. This module forms the 1 of 3 Mathematics modules that will enable NYP students to be exempted from the Mathematics Proficiency Test in NUS and NTU, for specific degree programmes. To be exempted, students must have sat and passed ITA103, ITA104 and ITA105.

  • ITA105 Advanced Calculus (60 hours)

    Upon the completion of this module, you would have gained the necessary mathematical skills and knowledge that will adequately prepare you for further studies. Topics covered include functions of several variables, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, infinite sequences and series, test of convergence for series.


    This module forms the final Mathematics module that will enable NYP students to be exempted from the Mathematics Proficiency Test in NUS and NTU, for specific degree programmes. To be exempted, students must have sat and passed ITA103, ITA104 and ITA105.

  • ITA237 Machine Data Analytics and Operational Intelligence (60 hours)

    This module introduces the concept of machine data, and illustrates the analytic techniques on these data to gain operational insights. Concepts of knowledge managements and common administrative tasks involved in managing industrial solutions at enterprise level are also included.

     

    Students can attempt Splunk Certified Admin certifications upon completion of this Dip-Plus module.

  • ITA239 Cyber Ethical Hacker (60 hours)

    Upon completion of this module, you will learn about effective system penetration testing techniques for the purpose of protecting modern IT systems.  Topics covered will enable you to use essential ethical hacking tools and techniques for reconnaissance, scanning, gaining access, maintaining access, and covering tracks.  Skills such as discovering system vulnerabilities, hacking web applications, wireless access points and mobile devices will also be taught.

     

    Students can attempt the Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH v9) 312-50 certification upon completion of this Dip-Plus module.

  • ITA240 Cyber Forensic Investigator (60 hours)

    Upon completion of this module, you will be proficient in conducting forensic examination and investigation on various digital data sources from computers, emails, to data network traffic. Topics covered will enable you to perform incident response and forensics in real-life incidents.  Skills such as electronic evidence collections,  Utilizing forensic tools and investigative methods to search for and to recover digital evidence in Windows, MacOS and Linux computers, Internet surfing history, emails, data network devices, analysis of digital media to determine the who, where, what, when, and how the intrusion occurred, examination report generation, and maintenance of case files will be taught.

     

    Students can attempt the EC-Council Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator certification upon completion of this Dip-Plus module.

  • ITA241 Cloud Computing Essentials (60 hours)

    Upon completion of this module, you will acquire the skills to effectively demonstrate an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts.  You will also be proficient in using cloud services to create highly available, secured and reliable cloud solution in a cost-effective manner.

     

    Students will be prepared to take the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification upon completion of this module.

  • ITA242 Robotic Process Automation Development (45 hours)

    This module will equip you with the fundamentals of Robotic Process Automation (RPA), an emerging IT trend in Business Processes to automate business operations that are routine, labour intensive and repetitive with large volume of transactions, such as mouse clicks, keyboard entries, manipulation of data, communicating with other application systems.

     

    Students will be required to complete the UiPath Academy Level 1 Developer Foundation during the duration of the Dip plus module.

  • ITA243 Application Development with SWIFT (45 hours)

    This module introduces the essential concepts of Swift programming language for leaners to acquire capabilities to develop, test and implement interactive applications to solve real life problems. Learners will also acquire skills and techniques of application design to develop apps which integrate with device functionalities.

     

    Students can attempt the Apple App Development with Swift Certification Level 1 upon completion of this Dip Plus module.

  • ITA244 Cloud Computing Foundation (45 hours)

    Upon completion of this module, the learner will acquire the skills to demonstrate knowledge of how to use cloud technology to architect secure and robust solutions in the cloud to drive business objectives.

     

    Students can attempt the Alibaba Cloud Certification Associate (ACA) upon completion of this Dip-Plus module.

  • ITA245 Linux Foundation (60 hours)

    In the module, you will acquire the skills to demonstrate knowledge of the Linux Operating System and how to use open-source technology to secure and build robust infrastructure solutions to drive business objectives.

     

     

    Students can take up the Linux Professional Institution’s (LPI) Linux Essentials Certification upon completion of this Dip-Plus module.

  • ITA321 Enterprise Linux (60 hours)

    This module equips students with the skill set to manage Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment. It covers system administration, software package management, file management, system security, system recovery and software deployment for the enterprise.

    Student can attempt the Red Hat Certified System Administrator certification upon completion of this Dip-Plus module.

  • ITA323 Advanced Networking (60 hours)

    This module will equip you with the knowledge and skills to deploy, maintain, secure and operate a medium-sized network using Cisco technologies. It comprises both an integrated and comprehensive coverage of networking topics, from fundamentals to advanced applications and services, and opportunities for hands-on practical experiences and soft-skills development. You will be able to install, configure and operate LAN, WAN for small and medium networks, including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, VLANs, STP, VTP, Ethernet, Access Lists, wireless technologies and network security.

     

    Students can take up Cisco Certified Networking Associate certification (CCNA) upon completion of this Dip-Plus module.
