Specialist Diploma in Business & Big Data Analytics

The minimum entry requirement is a recognized Bachelor degree (or higher), preferably in IT, Business, Engineering or Mathematics. Relevant polytechnic diploma graduates with a minimum of 2 years’ related working experience would also be considered.

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following entry requirements:

(i)        A recognized Bachelor degree (or higher), preferably in IT, Business, Engineering or Mathematics

(ii)      A diploma from a polytechnic in Singapore with a minimum of 2 years’ related working experience in IT, Business or Engineering

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on:

(i)        Evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience in IT/Engineering or any industry domain that handles data; OR

(ii)      Supporting evidence of competency readiness.

Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

This Post-Diploma Certificate is part of the stackable programme to the Specialist Diploma in Business & Big Data Analytics. Upon completion of any two of the three Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs) within a two-year validity period, learners will attain the Specialist Diploma in Business & Big Data Analytics.

Day Class

This course will be delivered 100% online. Participants will only need to return to campus for assessment.

Lessons are conducted in blended learning mode. Lectures are asynchronous online learning where learners learn at their own pace. Practical sessions are conducted synchronously online.

Night Class

Lessons are conducted in blended learning mode. Lectures are asynchronous online learning where learners learn at their own pace. Practical sessions are conducted face-to-face in NYP campus.

This course offers three Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs) of 150 hours each, from which course participants choose two PDCs for a combined total of 300 hours for the entire course. For lessons that fall on a public holiday, course participants will be informed of the makeup lessons, where applicable. Some of the lessons will be conducted off-campus through facilitated e-learning. Course participants will be informed at the start of the semester.

Day Class

The next plan intake for the day class is Oct 2023. We will need a minimum of 20 to open a class.

Night Class

Lessons are conducted every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

• Exam/Assessment fee of $5.35 per module
• Insurance fee of $1.70 per academic year
