  3. Is GCE 'O' level in Chemistry a prerequisite for Diploma in CPT? 

    Applicants need not have studied chemistry at'O' Level, although it will be useful. The course will lay a strong foundation for the students.

  4. How is Dip in CPT related to Life Sciences? What is the difference between Diploma in CPT and Diploma in Molecular Biotechnology? 

    The CPT graduate will be able to work in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities (as well as chemical manufacturing facilities) in areas such as operations, design, process control, laboratory and quality control. MBT graduates are geared towards product R&D, business development, sales & marketing functions in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices companies.

  5. Is Diploma in CPT a hybrid course? Do I learn less pure chemical engineering subjects? Will it be a disadvantage to graduates? 

    There are many common areas of technology between the chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. This course is broad-based enough in preparing students to work in either the chemical or pharmaceutical industry. The 2 areas of specialisations (petrochemical technology and pharmaceutical technology) give students a "head-start" in the industry they choose. In developing this course, NYP has received favorable support from chemical and pharmaceutical companies that this course will help prepare our graduates for their industries.

  6. Can I work as a pharmacist after graduation with a Diploma in CPT? 

                          

    This course does not prepare students to work as pharmacists. To be qualified pharmacists, graduates with a Diploma in Molecular Biotechnology can go through a degree course in Pharmacy either in local or overseas universities.
