    It is a new 3-year full time diploma which trains food technicians/ technologists in the area of R&D, manufacturing, executives in area of quality control & quality assurance, business development and sales & marketing.

  2. What is the difference between the Diploma in Food Science & Nutrition (DFSN) and the Diploma in Molecular Biotechnology (DMB)? 

    The DFS graduates will be equipped with adequate skills to work in small and medium enterprises (SME) as well as multi-national companies (MNC) in the areas of food research and development, production / manufacturing, quality control / quality assurance, sales & marketing as well as accreditation firms.

     

    Graduates from DMB are geared towards product research and development, business development, sales and marketing functions in biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical devices companies.

  3. What is the difference between the Diploma in Food Science (DFS) and the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences (DPS)? 

    Graduates from DFS will be equipped with adequate skills to work in small and medium enterprises (SME) as well as food multi-national companies (MNC) in the areas of research and development, production / manufacturing, quality control / quality assurance, sales & marketing as well as accreditation firms.

     

    The DPS graduates will be equipped with adequate skills to work in clinical research organizations, hospital and retail pharmacies and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

  4. Is GCE 'O' level in Chemistry a prerequisite for Diploma in Food Science (DFS)? 

    Applicants are allowed to combine their GCE 'O' level results of up to two sittings (any 2 years and do not need to be consecutive).

  5. What are my chances of getting into a particular course?

    Applicants need not have studied chemistry at 'O' Level, although it will be useful. The minimum O'level entry requirement is any relevant science subject from Grade 1 - 6. This course will lay a strong foundation for the students.
