BioInnovation Centre

The BioInnovation Centre (BIC) is an incubation centre for the biomedical sciences industry. The Centre offers start-ups and budding entrepreneurs a conducive environment to engage in R&D and product development in industry-standard facilities.

Located at the School of Chemical & Life Sciences in Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), the BIC provides support to its partners through collaborative projects and sharing of expertise in product development.

The BIC is an extension of NYP's unique teaching and learning approach which engages the industry in the training of its students. BIC partners will have the support of staff and students in their project developments, through industrial attachment programmes.

Facilities and Networks

At the BIC, partners can access state-of-the-art facilities such as fully-furnished laboratories with attached offices, chemical fume hoods, chemical safety features and reverse osmosis water set-up.

In addition, a wide range of services including small animal care, fermenteres/bioreactors, automated DNA sequencing, DNA microarray, proteomics, confocal microscopy, real-time thermocyclers, HPLC and GC-MS are provided.

BIC partners can benefit from the strong industry network that the School of Chemical & Life Sciences has built across the biomedical sectors: biotechnology, healthcare, medical technology and pharmaceuticals.
