Design increasingly shapes a consumer’s perception of beauty and fashion, sense of style and aesthetics and evolving trends and lifestyles. Over and above the influences of the consumer markets, design has become a major influence in leading global business research and corporate strategy, encouraging entrepreneurship and enhancing a company’s global success. In Singapore, the Creative Industries is identified as a growth sector and is targeted to bring in at least 6% of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2012. As such, more designers with unique and diverse talents and skills are needed for this fast growing industry. SDN focuses on developing innovative and confident designers for the creative industry. We believe in helping aspiring designers achieve their potential through the development of their creative talents and laying a solid foundation for their design career. Our students will be equipped with core design skills for the professional domains of industrial design, space & interior design, and visual communication.endorsed with the assistance of industry partners. In addition, our students have opportunities to go overseas, to acquire an understanding of different design and aesthetic cultures beyond Singapore.

The three diploma programmes that we offer are:

• C83 Diploma in Industrial Design

• C64 Diploma in Space and Interior Design

• C63 Diploma in Visual Communication
