Over the last eight decades, the SICC has emerged to be at the forefront of promoting business and enterprise development of the Singapore Indian Business community locally and internationally. The SICC Youth Enterprise Awards was launched to foster links with the budding entrepreneurial-minded youth and to create an opportunity for them to network with the Singapore’s business community. This year’s competition focused on the theme, “Social Entrepreneurship”, taking into views the unique opportunities and challenges inherent in social enterprise.  The competition has given the participants the opportunity to showcase their latent business acumen, creativity and resourcefulness, and in the process, develop strong entrepreneurial skills.

Vishnu’s proposed business plan includes solution/s to two growing needs in Singapore. Firstly, there are many young couples reluctant to leave their aging parents at home alone for a holiday.  Concurrently, there are also a growing number of matured people being forced to leave their jobs or have just retired. He proposed the business plan for an agency, “Oldies for Oldies”. It is an agency to provide the unique service getting mentally and physically matured retirees/retrenched workers from the workforce to offer cares for the sick & aged persons.

With a sound plan and convincing answers to all queries in an interview with panel of judges during the final, he emerges as a champion.
