Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Award 2011

Teams from School of Engineering have done well at the recent Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Awards 2011. The teams clinched a total of three Silver Medals, two Merit Awards and two Commendation Awards in the Senior Student Section, Open Section and Defence Science Section.
Congratulations to our young inventors!
One of the silver awards, Mobile Presenter or “mPresenter” in the Senior Student Section is an Android-powered mobile application which can be used for presentation slideshows. With this new invention, presenters will be able to move around more easily during their presentations.

The trio who won the silver award for their invention, "Blissy".
Winners: Phyu Hpone Mo Khant, Chin Soo Wen, and Zhao Dong (Diploma in Electronics, Computer & Communications Engineering)
This invention uses a novel and efficient Blissymbols entry method for a computing system.
This new entry method enhances the speed of composing Blissymbols sentences ten times more than conventional tools and methods; and benefits various groups of users, mainly speech and language therapists and disabled.
