Precision Engineering companies in Singapore are expanding their activities in tool & component manufacturing to support product design, development and realisation. Tool & component manufacturing has evolved rapidly with the introduction of automation and integration to the toolroom. Thus, a new breed of Precision Engineering technologists, conversant and adept in the latest technology and processes are needed to maintain the industry’s competitive edge. The diploma in Digital & Precision Engineering aims to provide students the necessary knowledge and skillsets to embrace new and exciting challenges in the precision engineering industry. Students of this course also have an opportunity to be awarded The National Precision Engineering Scholarship (NPES) by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and SPRING Singapore. All Digital & Precision Engineering students will undergo a common training programme in their first two years of study. They can choose from four elective programmes in the final year.

 

 

NPE Scholarship 

The National Precision Engineering Scholarship (NPES) is awarded by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and SPRING Singapore for studies in the Diploma in Digital & Precision Engineering at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP).

Course Aims

The course provides:

  • a strong foundation in precision engineering fundamentals, digital design and manufacturing;

  • the knowledge and skills in digital design and engineering applications, engineering process and control;

  • excellent industry exposure through six months of industrial attachment to a local or overseas company;

  • an opportunity to develop their competitive edge through working in the environment of a precision engineering company. 

Duration: 3 academic years on a full-time basis.
