Diploma in Multimedia & Infocomm Technology

The DMIT with its broad-based and multi-disciplinary curriculum, prepares students very well for further studies and provides the essential training for a new generation of versatile infocomm and interactive digital media professionals for the new global workplace.

The first two years are designed to develop in students a broad-based foundation in software development, communications & networks and interactive & digital media. Integrated into the curriculum are skills training on mathematics, communications skills, creative thinking & innovation, as well as technopreneurship. While the whole of year 1 is common to all students, students can customise a significant part of their year 2 study programme according to their technical interests and career aspirations.

In the final year, students can choose one of four elective programmes according to their interests and career aspirations. These electives are aligned directly to IDA’s National Infocomm Competency Framework. Students will also undertake a 12-week full-time project which will enable them to apply their creative talents and technical expertise to develop business solutions and hone their project management and technopreneurial skills. To help students gain work experience and international exposure, they will be attached to the industry either locally or overseas for 12 weeks underthe industry attachment programme (IAP). The full-time IAP and project are critical to students’ development and transformation into competent ICT specialists.
