Diploma in Nanotechnology & Materials Science

In the first year of studies, you will be provided with a comprehensive foundation in material science, engineering principles, and fundamental knowledge for nanotechnology applications. Building on this foundation, in your second year of study you will acquire more in-depth knowledge by applying basic principles learnt in the first year into understanding material properties and behavior, and conduct material selection and characterization techniques.
In the third year of studies, you will be streamed into two specialization electives which are focused to the needs of the advanced, electronics and nano material technology and processes related to the current industries. You can choose from one of the following elective programmes:
The three-year course emphasizes on hands-on training, with one whole semester set aside specially for the final-year project module in the third year. Moreover, to prepare you for the real world, the industrial attachment programme will give you a chance to work with companies on real-life projects.
To prepare our graduates for the challenges of globalization, as well as with the aim to allow students to experience business differences and practices in different countries, an Overseas Industrial Placement Programme (OIPP) module, , will also be offered to specially selected students to be attached to companies outside Singapore. The following are the modules students have to take before being awarded the Diploma in Nanotechnology and Materials Science:
