Integrated - Technology Teaching & Learning

Integrated Teaching/Technology Learning (ITL) is a new pedagogic approach used to maximise the effectiveness of technology teaching and learning, especially in the field of engineering, which is highly integrated and multi-disciplinary in nature.

The concept integrates the technology laboratories with working examples of different industry applications. Students are led through a journey of interactive and discovery learning as they take on a series of assignments in these laboratories.

The ITL concept ensures that students not only master key technologies in their area of specialisation, but also learn how different technologies are integrated into systems that are applied to solving real world problems.

ITL is a vast improvement over the traditional training method which takes place in a linear fashion, progressing from one concept to another in isolation. In contrast, under the ITL system, the integrated environment allows students at each stage to revisit concurrently all the concepts they have learnt previously as they work on a typical application encountered in the industry. Through this, they gain a fuller understanding of how technology can be applied. Below are some of the ITL systems developed for the training of different core technologies.
